Dear readers, welcome to my first ever blog post! A place where you will find tutorials mainly related to alcohol inks and resin, semi-humorous how-tos written by a former lazy artist turned small business owner (still half lazy), and some shockingly relatable life stories about what it means to be an artist.
If you're going loco in quarantine, consider reading this blog. Written by a self-proclaimed expert at introvert-ing with at least 10,000 hours of alone time under her belt (so, I must really know wtf I'm talking about), this blog will be chock-full of DIY activities and tricks to bust your boredom. I mean, who better to listen to than someone who has been through all this before, amirite?
Anywhoooo.... where was I? Oh! Yes. Who am I?
That's one secret I'll never tell, you know you love me... xoxo.
Lolllll I jokes.
But, please tell me you guys got that Gossip Girl reference and I'm not just getting too old??
Okay, I'm gonna stop digressing for realz, I promise.
So, really who am I? I'm an...
ARTIST & IMMIGRANT
My name is Gloria Bhargava and I'm an alcohol ink artist and resin connoisseur. I grew up in Bangkok, Thailand and immigrated to New York City four years ago. I love creating art, knitting, making jewelry, and anything crafty. Think Etsy.
This is my first real blog and it's about damn time I put pen to paper.
Although, this has been a long time coming, never have I ever imagined that I would be writing my first post under quarantine, recording my innermost thoughts during one of the most pivotal moments in history. But, then again, what better time to start than now?
I have so much I want to share with you... you young, fiery, sassy, independent women, you! I want to show you why I love working with alcohol inks so much and ignite in you a passion for working with your hands. Oh, the things you'll make and the places you'll go! (Well, for now just to the kitchen and bathroom... but, just let me use that Dr. Seuss expression, goddammit!)
So, if you:
are staring at the clock watching the second hand tick ever so slowly wishing that time would speed up
have always wanted a new hobby, but don't know what it should be or where to even begin
are totally like a seasoned maker, but just want to add another activity to your roster
really have nothing else better to do and find my posts slightly amusing
Then you have come to the right place, honey, and we will be meeting here every Monday. So, check in with me from time to time. Comment, share, post my articles, or do whatever you wild kids do on the net. Or if you prefer a more private tête-à-tête, please reach out to me at:
